THREE IN ONE

Hello little girl,
You are beautiful and soft.
I love the unruly curl of your mane
Your trusting brown eyes,
And smiling mouth
Your rounded limbs, your soft, sweet skin.
The way you twist and chew upon strands of hair
Your unspoken need for Love and
Trust

Hello little girl
Your song is heard in silent nights
When your tears fall and
your soul and body lies plundered, unprotected.
Like the wind in the trees, silent sobs shake your tender form.
Little one, how will you walk this treacherous slope
From childhood to womanhood
Whilst Spirit remains unharmed,
Unchained?

Little girl, you grow and yet you still remain
Hidden within a fragile, adult body.
Still beautiful and soft, you are.
Still gentle, kind and warm.
Little girl, your eyes retain their burden and their hurt
In your vulnerable search for trust and love.
You shine as one lone candle in the dark
The light will never be extinguished, never
Smothered.

Little girl, come and take my hand.
Together we shall hold each other firmly
We are not separate, you and I
For the light in your eyes
Mirrors the opposite darkness in my own
I am the harsh and austere Crone
You, the Maiden for too short a time
Together, becoming the Mother
Whole
